Tevye is a man who is torn between tradition of his faith and love for his daughters. The conflict increases when the Gentile community clash with the Jewish community compelling them to leave the only home they have known. Tevye wrestles with understanding how the traditions of the past are impacting his relationships with his family and community. How do we choose to interact with those in our life?
