The Women of Lockerbie

The Women of Lockerbie is based on the true events in Lockerbie, Scotland when a terrorist planted a bomb on a plane and how the Scottish people responded to the tragic and unjust events. Several years after the bombing, the play explores a painful true story about grief and anger being transformed into loving acts. One of the women in the play says, “When evil comes into the world it is the job of the witness to turn it to love.” Recently, I had the privilege to visit Lockerbie, Scotland. At one of the memorials, every exhibit about the tragedy included the phrase “Look Back, Act Forward.” May we “look back” as we watch the play, and “act forward” with truth and love.
